When you are new substitute teacher to a school district and arrive for the first time, it is often hard to know where to park. Many schools have student parking and teacher parking areas. A lot of schools also strictly enforce what cars occupy the areas and when. On your first day at the school, look over the parking lot to see if you can identify logical areas in which to park. Try to choose the one area that looks to be the most logical parking for substitute teachers and choose your spot. Never park in a no parking zone or handicap parking space. Then, when you go to check in at the front office, tell the administrative staff where you parked and ask if it is a good location or if you should move your car to another spot. Also find out if the school issues parking permits for saved spaces that you could use in the future.
