The first step to take in renewing the authorization to substitute teach is to make certain that you download the correct form from the Iowa Board of Educational Examiner's site. You want the form for renewal of substitute authorization. This is not the same form as that used for renewing the substitute license. Attach to the form a copy of an official transcript verifying that you have obtained 2 semester hours of credit from an accredited institution.
